Led ZeppF1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Fisi to Willams

This news comes from Turun Sanomat/Heikki Kulta.

Heikki Kulta reports that in Sunday night (in Silverstone) it has been found out that Fisichella has already announced to Peter Sauber that he is leaving the team after this season. This means contract with Williams.

http://www.turunsanomat.fi/f1/?ts=1,...593,2004-07-13

I hope its true.

Would love to see this happen. Would be fascinated to see how he'd get on in a top car...second thoughts, he better not join Williams then!!!

There isn't really many drivers who are worthy of a Williams drive...and by guessing, journalists actually have a good chance of making the right guess..

So while Fisi is a good option, of a few guys, i'd only believe when both parties announce it.

It'd be good to see Fisi in Williams..he deserve it.

This is enough for me to interrupt my vacation in Italy and respond. checked all through the press today, and I see nothing about this. Believe me, if it were true, the Italian press would be all over it.

Btw, was I the only one impressed with his last to 6th last weekend?

Forza Fisico!

Fisi and Webber in 2005? Wow - that would be great.

Inigo, there was a thread dedicated to Fisi's performance! It was noticed! Never seen so many compliments for the Roman!

He's destroyed every team-mate he's had, so surely there's no-one more deserving for a top drive than him. The drive he put in at Brazil '03 was sensational - just keeping the thing on the road was impressive enough, but cutting his way through to the front was incredible.

Fisi deserves a top drive and I really hope he lands one...go Fisico!

Well, Fisi has beaten all his team-mates, and he'll know Fisi's speed from testing for the Benetton team in '01. I'm sure Webber will know that if he beats Giancarlo it'll only help his reputation. Fisi is super-quick though, and has already beaten Ralf, Button, Wurz, Massa, Firman and Sato so I'm sure Fisi won't fear Mark. It'll be an interesting duel! One that could hopefully push Williams forward.

Could he be going to Toyota, or Renault, or Jaguar, or Ferrari, or Minardi, or Jordan? All of these teams may have a spare seat available for next year as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's going to Renault and Trulli to Toyota. As for who will be Webber's teammate maybe Heidfeld (Cause he's German) but I'm only guessing.

Not exact translation, but main parts:

According to Turun Sanomat, the biggest favourite, Mark Webber, - or his manager Flavio Briatore is playing himself out of the chase on the Williams seat.

Webber tries to interfere signing of Jacques Villeneuve or Giancarlo Fisichella as his team-mate.

On Sunday night it was revealed that Fisichella has announced Peter Sauber that he will leave the team at the end of the season. This would mean him driving Williams.

For Fisichella it doesn't matter who is his team-mate.

Sauber is a team boss who likes young guns. Replacing Fisichella he will choose slightly more experienced BAR-Honda tester Anthony Davidson.

Well, Ferrari are already full not just for 2005 but also for 2006 as well. So, Williams seat was realistic chance for Fisi.

And, if he shined in top team like Williams, he will or still have another chance to get Ferrari's seat.

According to Autosport, Flavio is getting Williams to hire Fisichella out to Renault (so Flav can avoid paying all that money), or else he won't let Frank have Mark Webber.

This leaves Sauber with Anthony Davidson at the top of their list, and Trulli on his way to Toyota.

As mentioned before, FA and MW at Renault will in FB's eyes lessen the value of one of his drivers, and he does not want to do that.

Davidson will stay as BAR tester he has already said they is not $$$ for a seat next year .

I still think Nick will get the gig at Will's next though IMHO J.Vill would be awesome to have back
