he is already in the best team and he is getting beaten, why would HRT want him.
and more importingly why would he give up his Ford contract |

Lowndes has a Ford contract - it wont happen.
Whether 888 remains a Ford team is yet to be seen - which means that Lowndes may have to shift to FPR or SBR. My guess is that Steven Richards might find himself back on the red side. |

Doubt it very much but they do need someone to replace Mark because his career is well and truly finished, IMHO.

CL said on Sydney radio tonight that he has this year & next contract with Ford & T8, so I reckon he will not be going back to the dark side, plus he is to happy were he is and lives.

I can't see CL going back to Holden while ever Tom Walkinshaw is around.

Very Unlikely. If Lowndes goes back to HRT than I might as well be Holden00. Although I don't think It will improve his odds on winning a 4th title.

Well, lets have a look shall we. When Craig moved from HRT to the 00 Motorsport/Fred Gibson operation, he was quick to denounce his relationship with the Red Barons and still today denounces the relationship with GMH. His relationship with Triple Eight Australia is super strong and their relationship with Ford his unquestionable. But on the other hand, Ford have come out saying that it will cease giving fiancial surport to all Blue Oval teams except Ford Performance Racing and Stone Brother's Racing. This new terms will put stress on now non Ford backed teams. With Triple Eight UK/EU having strong ties with GMV (Vaxhaull), this could translate the Australian arm moving from ovals to lions with the possiblity of both Lowndes and Whincup moving too as their contract with Ford may seem void.
But in truth, we won't know until 2009 and in my opinion, I don't think we will see Lowndes in a big shiny red Holden for a while. |
