Exhibition of Paintings by Michael & Graham Turner
I had the pleasure of attending the Preview the Turners Exhibition of Paintings last night which was opened by Mark Webber.
The Exhibition is an interesting mix of Motorsport and Aircraft, a celebration of 60 years of the F1 World Championship and 70 years since the Battle of Britain. Graham Turner is also big in the Jousting world and displays many of his Medieval pictures. Webber brought his own Turner painting of his first GP win at the Nurburgring and gave an insight to how the scene and content was decided - on the back of a fag packet ! As Mark is only the 3rd Australian GP winner, views of Jack Brabham and Alan Jones were added along with National Emblem of Australia. Seeing Michael's work back in the late 60's gave me the inspiration to try it myself. I thought I may enjoy it, but the show exceeded all expectations. Altogether an excellent evening and well worth the drive from Cheshire to Aylesbury and back. The Exhibition is Free and open until Sunday 2nd May. More details Here |
