Well there's a list that could occupy us for hours, days, weeks or even months! There are a lot of familiar names there and many of them are still with us, I'm very pleased to say.

But for Ricardo (also spell Richard in several lists) RODRIGUEZ, is not the brother of Pedro , he is an homonym driver who drove a NART FERRARI with Chuck PARSONS in 1967. |

David Sutherland?
The driver I've heard of by that name was a regular in British Sports 2000 in the 70's and early 80's. Participated in some British and European Group A Touring car rounds with a Sytner entered 635 and the Le Mans styff he did was in BMW M1's and Porsches I think. Is it the same guy because I didn't think he was Australian? |

Bill Allen is surely the Lotus Elite driver who later chaired the MSA Historic Commission for years and is the father of James Allen the ITV commentator and was still about a couple of years ago.

No, sorry Haine. That is for individual drivers where we have already acquired some information. Also, I don't think it would help, since it is a new sub forum and does not get the same level of viewing as here.

I echo John's statement Haine.
However I will have a look at your list again shortly and offer any info on names I have heard of. I'm sure between the forum hosts and some of our 'experienced' members we can come up with some more for you. |

Quick Google searching came up with info on some of the UK names e.g.:
Doreen Evans (1916-1982), Motor racing driver One of the leading female racing drivers of 1930's. Doreen Evans was the youngest child in a motor-racing family whose business, the Bellevue Garage in Wandsworth, was a leading MG agency. With her brothers Dennis and Kenneth she competed in MGs in the Bellevue team, and at Le Mans in Captain Eyston's 'Dancing Daughters' team. Jem Marsh is the founder of Marcos Cars, still very much alive, his contact details can be found on Google. Roger Enever is an ex-MG driver (co-incidentally I was researching one of his cars). Still alive - I can put you in touch with a contact of his if you PM me. Suggest "Alexander Poole" and "Alec Poole" may be the same person? Alec ran a Sprite, shared with Enever in 68. Still very much alive and commercial director of modern Tour Britania - contact details through Google. Hope this is a start for you. |

A few thoughts that I have.
From the top; Lucio Cesario was a regular in Australian GT's and Touring Cars in 70's and 80's. I particularly remember him pedalling Alfettas and later a 75 alongside Colin Bond I think? Alain Peltier and Jean Xhenceval were regulars in both Belgian and European Touring cars in 70's and 80's. I believe they were seen in Capri's and BMW's. One of our members, Frank De Jong's excellent website about the ETC will give you further details about them. www.touringcarracing.net Also Racing sportscars is another useful resource: www.racingsportscars.com and also try: www.oldracingcars.com for potted histories of drivers. |

Tom Dickson? Would that be Tommy Dickson as in the 50s-70s driver from Perth Scotland, used to race Mercedes?
He formed Dickson's of Perth, Mercedes Dealer. They used to be very good when we used them when Tommy was still involved. His son Norman took over the business and he started to race himself at Ingliston in "old" McLaren F1 cars and F2 cars and apparently ran in Aurora F1 series, he retired in the 80s. Norman had a son, Nicky, he raced XR2s in Scotland but retired when he found out he wasn't as good as he thought. Dickson's of Perth moved to Dunblane and lost the Mercedes franchise and became 1 of the largest japanese car importers in Scotland. They moved back to Perth after a few years, now Norman is being investigated by the authorities! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/...al/6949646.stm |
