Good for you Tareq, this is exciting..what you need is to secure a track for a few dates, the more the better. and then draw up a regulation book (or do this first)
and spread the word. make sure people turn up. Oh and it would be a good thing to get Contigincy (sp) or a sponsor for the series. so you have a prize fund.... This is of course just a seed |

Well, trying to find something that is exiting to watch and race but not too costly. Most of the racing here is Rally, Drag, kart and Autocross/hillclimb. With the track being built I think a good local series would be great but want to make it easy to get into inorder to attract people.
Plus keep it controlled so that big bucks dont mean easy win |

We based our attempt on the Legends in America (www.600racing.com) A great idea, very quick and reasonably cheap. Our car comes in at around 450 KG with 170HP. Absolute rocket. The hardest thing we have found is the official c--p that we have to put up with. After going through the motions I would have to suggest you use an existing category. Tracks in OZ are reasonably priced at around $3500 to $4000 for the day, however insurance doubles this. If you can get a decent field ie 20 cars this brings a meet down to around $500 per car which is very reasonable.
Keep in touch Im really interested in how you go. It sounds like your doing exactly what Im attempting in oz. |

Yep was looking at the Legends website.. seems they are becoming quite popular in UK aswell. I think the bike engined cars look interesting due to the sequential gearbox aswell. I was also thinking Super 7 style cars.
The big question at the mom is what the track would cost as it is still being built for the F1 next year. Early Days here! Let me know how its going with you as I think you are much more ahead than I am. Cheers |
