F3 and GT Croft
From the organisors
Thanks a million for all the hard work over the weekend and especially for today. I know we had some hail yesterday, but todays was some serious stuff and everyone enjoyed themselves (I think) Look forward to the next event. |

I would personally like to echo Steve's thanks, especially today with the weather.
My apologies to post 14 as I didn't manage to get to see you over the weekend. Once again thanks for all the hard work over the weekend. Pete Howarth Chief Marshal BRSCC - Northern Centre |

Croft in the spring (photo from rdjones)
http://www.rdj-pics.co.uk/Photos/200.../F3-GT022.html "Challenging" conditions for all (drivers & marshals alike), but should make for good telly in the next few weeks. Nice to see most of the cars having an attempt at ploughing the fields during the day. Thanks for a good weekend all. Al. |

I'm a Ginetta driver who skated off a couple of times on hail stones, bounced off a couple of tyre walls but still finished both races, I know how horrible it was out there for the drivers. It must have been ten times worse for the marshals, so thanks to you all.

well that's narrows you down to about half the field then. Must confess not sure if you were brave or foolhardy. Either way you put on really good race(s)

Texyboy - 6 more huts are on their way, which should guarantee glorious weather for the rest of the season (we hope!)

yeah the race you had was a good one - did you all get stuck on the grid for long in the wet?? i can imagine that being just as bad without weather proofing it can get a tad cold then to add a freezing wind as you drive... does the cold alter your driving style - you know - if your really cold you tend to tense up i find - i have a Dax Rush - been caught up a few times in bad weather - once in a thunder storm with no doors roof or nowt from newark to cleveland when you see rain running down the dash its time to call it a day - point being i noticed that as you get colder and the water reaches the 'nether regions' it alters your concentration and position as you tense!! |

Well, I'm not going to talk about my nether regions on here....but I did have to race with my visor up as it wouldn't clear. Afterwards, my contact lenses had been welded to my eyeballs by the 100mph impact with hail!
On the grid I did wish the Ginetta was a hard top though! But I really felt sorry for you guys, particularly at the windswept part - the ironically named Sunny! |

yeah thats exactly where i was!! on the straight after sunny... after some clearing of the drains by the lads on sunny out - we were lucky to get the racing resumed so quickly - which involved some digging of the drainage out!!!
