Who will win south side?
Well well well, what a season so far and now we go from the Aussie mainland and go home to the current champion and the oldest but one of the best drivers from Team BOC, John "JB" Bowe. My favioutes to win would have to be Russell Ingall, as he is the defending round winner, Marcos Ambrose would be another winner this year, he could have had championship #2 if only a oil leak caused him to DNF his falcon. Dark horses would have to be David Besnard, even though crazy it might sound, a race win for him last year and with a new engine in his car means he could be a one to watch. Skaifey and Mr Greg Murphy would have to be ones to watch out for, but luck has shone a bad light with these 2 brillant drivers. So, that is what I have to say, what do you good people think?

To be honest though, i would have thought it would have been more economically viable doing up the Baskerville circuit and running the race in Hobart, being the largest population centre.
I did manage to map out a street circuit around Salamanca place last time i was down in Hobart... with a big left handed sweeper around from constitution dock down to the Silos, and then a hairpin up Salamanca, turning left up the hill towards Sandy Bay... Ok.. maybe i had too much time on my hands in Hobart... |

The idea of THE CONSITUTION 500 (About the same time as the Gelong 500) has been around for years and was once very heavily looked at. Big problem closing off streets as the best ones to use would include shutting off the main thru ways of Hobart.
Baskerville while a much better drivers circuit than Symmons would have taken a hell off a lot more Dollars to get up to a standard capable of running V8's |

also hobart may have the largest population base but symons plains is pretty much central to the hole state. i know a couple of people from smithton that are going to the V8's and i doubt they would travel the extra 2 hours to get to hobart. they already travel about 4-5 hours to get to symmons.
i would love to see the V8's around BarstardsVille |

After Surfers, Ingall, Lowndes and Ambrose to receive drive through, Skaife will win, makes for more with a possibility at PI. Could that be organised?

Start of a big fortnight in Tassie with Test Cricket (First time in 4 seasons) the next week. As for the racing, the weather may have an impact as it invariably does, so don't discount the guys who are generally quick in the wet should the conditions be consitantly overcast and/or wet.

Who will win??
Lowndes, Ingall or Ambrose i hope I agree with crynoid, the car park was a bit boggy in places last year. After being there Friday and Saturday, on Sunday i got there nice and early and parked just to the right as you enter, so i was able to get out easy enough in the rush. |

Ingall would go in a very slight favourite, but CL has the momentem on his side, and as the track is were Ambrose grew up?
Thr Fords seem to be a quicker car at the moment to. 1 INGALL 2.LOWNDES 3.AMBROSE But any of these could pull of a win. P.S. For you people on the red side Skaifey would be you best bet. |

The first time Ambrose drove on the track was last year apart from a HQ drive challenge back in the mid 90's. mind you he was dominating till the engine blew in the last race.

The Aussie Racing Cars will be at Symmons and then again next year at Baskerville as the main act. When the Taswegians see them at Symmons they will be flocking to see them at Baskerville which might get some more support for the Hobart track. They get 2 and sometimes squeeze 3 wide V8s around the hairpin at Symmons so I reckon you will see 5 wide in the Aussie Racers, I love em.

I still think Mr Lowndes is the more likely of the 5 contenders to win the series. He seems to have no problem with speed, in qualifying or racing, and other than Bathurst, has had not been involved in anyone else's mess...
If Rusty doesnt qualify well, he will be stuffed.... if Mr Ambrose doesnt race well, he will be stuffed..... if the HMS rockets open up the taps up the back straight at Symmons, everybody else will be stuffed |

I wonder what lap times Courtney will acheive in the 700bhp 3 seater SBR ride Falcon on Monday 14th November-
might be worth some fans getting their stop watches out and staying around to see wht he can do! |

Well, Mr Seton would be a dark horse for Tassie and at Penguin Island (The nickname I give Phillip Island due to Penguins going to the Island). He is going for a massive 200 starts and with the right consistancy, he might score a podium or a win
