Johnny Herbert disses the DTM!!!

Did you read this article? It was located at a website called Touring Car Times. The article was taken from there courtesy of Johan Meissner. Talk about some very mean and cutting remarks!!!

Johnny Herbert recently spoke about Jean Alesi's move to the DTM in the British motorsport magazine Autosport. Herbert says that Alesi is showing his age by moving to DTM. He continues to say that DTM is a series for old men; "It's for old men. I'm sure Jean will be able to get all his luggage in the back and everything he needs for the family. I don't consider myself to be as old as Jean obviously does," said Herbert to Autosport.

Herbert did just as Alesi also quit Formula One recently but is not considering DTM as an option. As Herbert aims for Indianapolis and Le Mans Jean Alesi has been given similar offers but feels that DTM is the series for him: The DTM is a series where all the cars and the competition are very similar," said Alesi. "But when you do LeMans you have no idea because you overtake cars on the straight where there is almost a 60mph speed difference, and that is not something that I would like to do." Jean Alesi will drive for Mercedes in the DTM 2002 and has high expectations on him.

I saw him on that last night and he didn't know what the f@$* he was talking about - sounded like he had just rolled out of the nearest casino as well!
