I've gone patriotic for once. Vandoorne quite comfortably outperformed his teammate, the best driver in the best form of his life this weekend. definately making progress from his form in the first half of the season.

Ricciardo. Some good overtaking moves and great defending of a car that was much, much quicker than him! Don't see that too often.

Vandoorne. He got a great start and kept it there to finish a creditable 7th.

For me it's either Verstappen (really solid drive), Vettel (not only recovering, but recovering to nearly claim a podium!!!), or Vandoorne. I'll opt for the latter. Unlike Singapore he wasn't relying on the nature of the circuit or attrition - this was pure talent. He comfortably outshone Alonso!!!

Max all the way for me, showing what he's really capable of. Great drive by Vettel until the post race idiocy......

I'm not one to vote for a countryman just for the sake that he's a countryman, having been very critical of him in the past, but Stoffel drove superbly today and outperformed Fred relatively easily, to be honest.

Vettel for me.
If not for his bad luck on Saturday, he could/should have won. I feel sorry for Raikkonen. He too would have had a great chance to win, and for once he would not have moved over for Vettel. Vandoorne did alright. It was probably not going to be better than 7th. Last edited by gert; 1 Oct 2017 at 12:46. |

For a race in which I put Alonso in the predictions contest for driver of the Grand Prix, he for once is completely ruled out of it as he is comprehensively beaten by Stoffel Vandoorne. I voted Vandoorne as driver of the Grand Prix.

Vandoorne. genuinely seemed to have the measure of Alonso all weekend but more importantly in the race.
now ahead on points too. surprising. |

Kimi, with an honourable mention for both Verstappen and Vandoorne.

Perez.
Not fully race fit, yet kept up a decent pace and made the tyres last.. Vandoorne. Now looks more and more like the driver we thought he was. Max - superb drive but arguably 'let' go' by Hamilton. |

sure vandorne didnt outqualified , only outscored him. probably better for stofel this way, as trulli got his career terminated for outqualifying him, hamilton got additonal FIA supervisors to his side of the garage for daring to do outqualify him (in his rookie year) |

Didn't Fred get his maiden pole here with the flu?
