The unexpected RDD recruit Marco Sorensen got his 1st win, may be there's something in him.

Alastaro race was also a round of Finnish championship racing (F3, FF, GT3, FR2.0) and NEZ (FIA North European Zone cup) for FF and F3, but NEC and FCR Renaults had their own races. NEC Renaults were joined by some Finnish and Estonian guest drivers. Otherwise there would have been only 11 cars All four FR races were mega boring... Luckily Finnish F3 provided some great racing in Sunday and Fords weren't as bad as usually either |

Mega calendar table thingy:

Karjalainen Henri FIN RedStep Formula Moor Johannes EST RedStep Formula Rammo Antti EST Scuderia Nordica Vanaselja Tõnis EST Scuderia Nordica Kulmanen Kalle FIN P1 Motorsport Wikman Juha-Pekka FIN privateer In 1st round of NEZ cup at Ahvenisto there were 8 FRF drivers + 2 BS Motorsport cars (Daniel Roos, Felix Rosenqvist) from Sweden... 5 or 6 cars expected to 2nd round in Pärnu. According to an article in Sportinformation.com the invites to the event were sent out only two weeks prior and they then cancelled the event just a few days before. Highly professional. No wonder not even STCC seems to be interested in racing at Anderstorp anymore. And putting it at the same weekend as the Gothenburg City Race was perhaps not a smart move either. |

Thomas Knopper 1990-2009
Dutchman Thomas Knopper, who competed in his first year of car racing in the NEC last year and finished 9th overall, unfortunately died in a crash on the 9th August at the start of a KZ2 race for the German Karting Championship DKM at Liedolsheim. In 2007 he won the European KZ2 championship before graduating to Formula Renault, where he scored a best finish of 6th at Hockenheim in the NEC. Condolences to family and friends.

Congratulations Kevin Korjus and T.T.Racing! "Best of the rest" (and beating some Motorpark drivers too ). This was Kevin's second season in formulae and for the team it was the first full season outside the Balticum/Finland and second year with FR2000 cars. Nice to see them ahead of their "sister team" Koiranen bros. (again) too.

I reckon that Daniel Aho is a fine young driver. He was running 1st or 2nd earlier in the year too but had some non finishers...
