I just bought a FORD
Yes it is no joke a one eyed dyed in th wool Holden man has gone and bought a XR6 Turbo.
I recently got a promotion at work and part of the pakage is a car. So after much thinking and driving Vy SS Commodore and XR6 Falcon the choice was simple, The Falcon is a much better car so I signed on the dotted line. |

The car feel tighter and definatly had better ride. The engine was very impressive and unlike the SS there was no engine rattles. The interior was on par but overall with the better performance, ride and brakes it won

Good to see another Turbo XR6 on the forum.
I agree with your summation, ride and handling is better, and your not sitting sideways in the drivers seat due to misplaced pedals. |

Yes it is Manual, it's Mecury silver and the only option is the sound system (The 6 stack in dash unit). Now all I have to do is wait for it

The premium audio is worth it. Can you stretch to leather? It makes the interior.

You can run on regular, but don't get the milage or the performance of optimax (although the performance seat of the pants doesn't dip much). Mostly Optimax or BP 3000 -that's what I put in mine.

Well the motor blew up and the gear box shat itself, but apart from that none really, except the rust coming through the rear quarter panel and the woman down the raod who won't leave me alone cause she wants to have my babies as I have such a cool car now...

Seriously
Iv'e had the front brakes remachined at 12000 klms. I mentioned a slight shudder that was intermitant and they just went ahead and did it. The brake shudder seems to be a common fault. I had them take the windscreen out and put a thicker bead under it. It would howl at quick raod speeds - loudly though. This fixed it. They have replaced the front top radiator hose, slight leak. Plus, the woman down the road wants me real bad. |

8 weeks? Your an optimistic and trusting fella are'nt you. If you are lucky, you will see it in 2003.
Congrats on the purchase mate, I put an order in for a Phantom NA XR6 and the wait is about a month (could get it straight away but I wanted the LSD). Put next to the Commodore, it's not even close. About the same gap the Holden had over the AU IMO. |
