Racecast

Is anyone signed up to have racecast?

Would anyone be willing to share their log in details, so people who can't afford it, can have it?

Breaking News:

I have it on good authority that CNNSI will be ceasing online operations as of May 15. So wonder what the future holds for NASCAR.com?

What authority would that be? We need input! More input!

Actually, unless I am mistaken, CNNSI and Turner Sports Interactive (the division of AOL\Time Warner that operates NASCAR.COM) have almost no relation to each other, other than the parent company.

It was supposedly announced by them yesterday but I heard it from a friend of mine that works at CNN.

Beretta on the "told ya so" thread on RacingOne said it was announced yesterday. Like I said, I got the info. from a friend of mine that works for CNN and actually hired two of the CNNSI employees that were being booted.

Tim: I just think that it is a part of their reorganization and hopeing upon hope that this means getting RaceCast back. They (NASCAR.com) have taken a lot of heat over this matter.

Thkx Countrybo, I used to enjoy following along...especially when FOX would only focus on the drivers who's sponsors paid the extra cash.

I don't know... Real Networks has a long term contract to operate racecast. It ever being free again seems unlikely.

And while it obviously wouldn't be the same, one solution would be to either use the chatroom or mirc, and all of us meet for live chats on racedays. In my opinion, this is a little better than the "live thread" thing we have done here in the past.

We do A live Conference on IM. Generally Yahoo. Chatrooms tend to have TOO much chatter. This way you can control who is with you & it's more under control. It's been alot of fun.

Fire up them keyboards!!!!!!!

Dear Boycotters:

This weekend, as you well know, is our next boycott of NASCAR.com. It is time to fire up those keyboards an have an all out e-mail blitz to as many sponsors as possible. Also, e-mail all media in Alabama. Everyone make sure that you esp. e-mail Aarons’ Rents, since they are sponsoring both races this weekend. Let’s also keep the message boards, on all sites, busy about the boycott.

Danny

P.S. Thanks for the support from some of the sites that are not affiliated with NASCAR.com. No names mentioned, you know who you are.

In the interest of supporting said anti-greed boycott, and for our races fans across the pond who don't get to watch the races live, I have been searching the net for MRN or PRN affiliates who do webcasts. Here are the sites I have found so far:

WFXX-FM 107.7 Andalusia, Alabama (Real Player, Good Sound Quality)
KRLA-AM Glendale, California (Windows Media Player, Good Sound Quality)
KTCT-AM 1050 San Francisco, California (Windows Media Player, Good Sound Quality)
WNDA AM 1490 Daytona Beach, Florida (Windows Media Player, Good Sound Quality)
WNDB AM 1150 Daytona Beach, Florida (Windows Media Player, Good Sound Quality)
WNAV-AM 1430 Annapolis, Maryland (Real Player, Poor Sound Quality)
WBFX-FM 101.3 Grand Rapids, Michigan (Windows Media Player, Bad Sound Quality)

There are more on the list I have, but I went through about 300 radio stations to find these 7, and I got pooped. I'll weed through some more later.

In the event that I may have missed some, here are the websites I am collating this information from, in case anyone wants to delve farther into it than I have so far, which is up to the end of the Michigan listings. If you find any more, please post them.

Sorry, Countrybo. Even if it is a sponsor of NASCAR Racing, advertising is not permitted here, unless it has something to do with the topic of discussion, which this post clearly did not. Please let their advertising agencies do what they get paid for, and don't post things like that here.

Racecast, if you want it, you got to pay !

Countrybo, I did contact Aaron's Rent and thanked them for their sponsorship of Michael Waltrip's car in the Busch Series.
I also thanked them for sponsoring the races this weekend at Talladega.
I told them not to be discouraged by a few radicals who are fighting a losing battle,
I welcomed them to Nascar and asked them to please stay.

Face it, Racecast is not free anymore and no matter what you do, it won't free again.

Accept it and get over it !

To get into a debate is normal here hakkiman, LOL.

I think I kmow the answer to that question, at least I did.

There was a fellow posting a link to Racecast on another forum I go to, it worked a couple of monthes ago, he was told by an administator to quit posting the link and he did, I'll go back into the earlier posts because he did give an email address to get the link from him directly (by email), if I find it I will PM you.

Chalk another one up for me

Dan da Man has done it again. Dang, I am good with the media. Check out the Times Daily Newspaper in AL, which is a part of the NY Times to see the letter I wrote.

I like MRN

I listen to the race on MRN during the commercials on TV.
I know about crashes, cautions, lead changes, etc. before they show it on TV.
