CAN-AM coming to the UK 2016
I must say I am very excited at the prospect of seeing these cars again after several years absence from our tracks in the UK. I have great memories of the Silverstone Interserie races from the early 70`s, does anyone have any information on any cars that will be entering?

Assume the OP is talking about this- discussed on the calendar thread and plumbed into the calendar!

Thanks Mike, loved those cars when I saw them live, albeit in the Thundersports series many years ago.

It's not as if the CanAm and Interserie cars have not raced over the last few years, just not in a specific grid advertised as such. At one time Masters combined them with the Touring 70s cars, which made for an interesting race when in a Ford Escort..... OK, there weren't that many big bangers, but hopefully with the anniversary more will come out to play this season!
Something that slipped past me when replying initially about races for the beasts this season, is that the early cars are also racing at the Goodwood Members Meeting this March- appropriately in the 'The Bruce McLaren Trophy'. |

I raced an S2K in Thundersports when Wilds, Foulston et al were in their majesty in Can Am cars. It was a privilege to be lapped by them!
The words "awesome" is generally over used these days, but from the driving seat these brutes really did provoke awe. Happy days! |

There's going to be one very happy SC Obs having a field of these rumbling around behind him.

Then the UK series tailed off as everyone jumped on the Steinberger/Oldtimer bandwagon in Germany etc This a great initiative as they are proper crowed pleasers like the F1's and classic touring cars. |
