Their TL car is for sale too.

Well for sale/for lease/for them to run... makes for plenty of options for a prospective series entrant perhaps...

Seems quite cheap at 185k.

Does anyone know what a new turn-key TLX Holden costs? I would imagine the Toyota would be a bit more due to the engine, but I am sure Promax will correct me on that if I am wrong

$185k is about the cost that has always been touted as the price.

Tulloch Motorsport are a team that could build a customer car and on that basis I would expect a turn key purchase to be not much more. Certainly get change from $200k. And that is pretty good for a car in this class which has rounds at most tracks as well as a NZ wide championship

Or did last season anyway. Nobody has said what is happening next season. If the TLX's go their own way there will be a grand total of 5 cars, hmmm, value for money?

what was the total cost of a new supertourer ??, a series that goes to limited tracks thus limiting exposure ??

wasn't it another 40 grand.. then you've got to put the thing together.

what's the price tag on the International Motorsport FG for sale?

Firstly I don't see any relevance in comparing one class to another particularly when it is apples and oranges.

The TLX avertised is a second hand race car.

If, as I believe has been mooted, Tullock intends to produce TLX cars himself then a strategy of offering a turn-key car that you can touch and feel makes some sense.

What however is the full retail replacement cost of such a car?

I will stoop a little to your level and also inquire as to how many misleading statements have been made in respect to the TLX class?

Given that neither of the two previous posters have any 'skin in the game' their transparent trolling is tiresome - as ever.

stop making a mountain out of a mole hill! if i remember correctly.. $220,000 was the price mentioned in here for a ST that was yet to be put together. also the International Motorsport FG is up for sale.. so where's the harm in asking what they want for it? in no way was i having a go at International Motorsport or the ST class.

it's rather strange you didn't jump down anyone's throat when the new Toyota 86 class was compared with other classes? hmmm

I thought a new ST was $206k turn-key?

But obviously when you add some of the fancy add-ons that some teams will have (cool boxes, cool suits, etc etc) then the price will no doubt ramp up a little.

Maybe Mark Petch could step in here and tell us if we wanted to buy a turn-key ST 2moro, this is how much it would cost you?

And Promax, how much for the Toyota version of the TLX? is it the same as the Holden or Ford?

A new V8ST VE2 Holden Commodore, cost is now $205K for the complete kit.

The price of a "turn key" car is $215 plus the cost of painting the exterior panels [$3K] So a fully painted Turn Key car from AV8 Motorsport is $218K all up.

I went and had a look. The TLX cars were about 3 seconds up the road over the weekend. Give or take a few tenths here or there.

That's flattering to the TLX cars, and not so for JMac. Try 1.2 seconds from the slowest TLX to JMac in Race 1, 1.4 in Race 2 and 1 second in Race 3.

I wouldn't call that a quarter-mil+ well spent to be honest.

Mckenzie.
Apparently JMac reckoned with a bit more effort leading into he weekend he could have out qualified Hayden. He was 0.4 off in qually.

I know the criteria for the TLX isn't necessarily for it to be faster but naturally the expectation is that it should be.

Whatever the turnkey price is, it is probably down on the cost of building a top nzv8 but right up there on what the mid to back feild would spend.
The biggest disappointment is the utter lack of ability of drivers coming in to TL spec cars. Their general lack of pace and ability means whatever they have done before has taught them very very little.

Absolutely correct, that championship was a farce. I watched a few minutes of TV coverage in the first round and didn't go back for any more. The word "inept" springs to mind, "embarrassing" is another.

umm pretty sure lower running costs and a car that is quicker and easier to fix was the point TLX the TLX's times are Ruapuna weren't too shabby before STM worked their magic on it. i think parity is more of interest to the TLX owners at this stage.. rather than outright lap times lol i'm pretty sure they'd throw more hp at their cars if that was all they were worried about. besides.. if the TLX's were 6 seconds faster than the TL's you guys would still complain

heard the same thing about the last ST rounds. sounds like some drivers thought they were racing a stock car
