BOM forecast is for cold and dry weather.

I'm thinking that the Fords may have the edge at SMP, the chevs seem to dominate at tight tracks with better drive out of slow corners.

Tickford downsized because it was offered a large cheque by Supercars to do so. Running the spare car at one round is not going to be a major drain on the team's resources.

When teams downsize to two cars, is is because they cannot generate the sponsorship revenue to run four. The 'reduce their workload' reason is just corporate spin.

You might think that losing ~35 people out of your shed does actually impact the number of available people to run any extracurricular activities.

The Tickford car is a spare, so there would have been minimal preparation requited to make it race ready. Given that Tickford has managed to field five cars at the rounds where the main game and development series were on the same card, it is unlikely to have a problem in fielding three this weekend.

Correlation does not equal causality.

Tickford did NOT downsize because Supercars offered to buy back RECs

Tickford downsized because DJR won sole responsibility for homologating the Gen3 Mustang.

Supercars buying back RECs just made it easier to justify, but the job losses were in manufacturing, not really the extra people to run 2 more cars.

Interesting that the steering rack issue identified by Mr Kostecki was apparently remedied by changing the uprights..

Seems odd too that Speedcafe thought to modify their story on this Here when it expressed a driver frustration with equipment which, while not the rack in question, was part of the undercarriage architecture…

Quite how Erebus hadn’t sought to replace the uprights previously would be interesting to understand.

It might also beg the question as to whether the steering inconsistencies reported by Mr Van Gisbergen last season had other causes like this upright issue…

Mr Van Gisbergen had similar complaints last year.. Mr Whincup tested all 3 888 chassis and found they each felt different in the steering.

That Erebus found a failure in an upright is good.. however if you replaced 3 racks and it didn’t solve the issue, it might make you wonder what else connected to the racks may need servicing or replacing.

Looking at the forecast for Bankstown airport, they are going for a westerly wind , 30 knosts gusting up to 42 knots until about 1730, then dropping back to about 27 knots after that.

Nice little breeze off the Blue Mountains as day turns to night.

The Supercar brains trust will be nice and warm in the corporate box.
