Will Dunlop Motorsport Strike Impact on BTCC
My tyre supplier informs me that the Dunlop motorsport tyre factory has been on strike for 3 weeks now. Does anyone think it will have an impact on the supply of tyres for BTCC? Surely 3 weeks is quite a bit of production to lose?

I wasn't thinking that, but could it mean that certain compounds wouldn't be available etc?

There has been industrial action at one of our plants, Fort Dunlop in Birmingham.
During this time, a limited number of tyres have been made to supplement the stock that we hold for key contracted championships. We have held stock of the BTCC spec tyre to cover a number of future race events. It is hoped that the dispute will end tonight following the latest negotiations. I have heard the strike is indeed still on and some Radical drivers are now having issues getting tyres for trackdays.
I presume they can carry on making tyres for BTCC etc. with limited resources but trackday drivers might find it tricky. |
