Your Rally planner for 2005

So what have people got planned in the British Isles for 2005? I'm looking forward to a few events but have not finalized exactly which ones I am going to.
The Munster National, Dongal Inter, Jim Clark and Birr Forestry Rallies are most likely for me, where are yous going?

Our plans are pretty fluid at the moment (as in we have no idea what we're doing!). We did the Longmoor Loco stages, thought about Goodwood (but aren't going to make it). After that we're looking at possibly Longcross, Millbroook, Abingdon and Oakington before doing Longmoor again.

We'll go and have a look at the Rally of Kent too but won't be taking part (no gravel suspension or tyres yet )

MN has a poster rally calender thing in the next issue should help planning.

Wise man with the Rally of Kent - without doubt the world greatest stage rally

Entry in for West Cork Paddys Weekend. No Plans any further than that.

Bert for god sake stay away from those forests I've heard that those most lethal of herbivores "Trees" lurk in those dark and mucky places waiting for unsuspecting rally car crews and then running straight into them.!!!

Rally of Kent is great - and Bedgebury is only a couple of miles from home

(That weekend is the first 'proper' motorsport weekend of the year for me - Lydden on the Saturday, Bedgebury on the Sunday )

havent been at the Birr Forestry for a good few years but its normally fairly good, you shoul wait til the MEC forestry event as it's based in Laragh in Co.Wicklow and would be closer to you

Yeah thats right. If I was to make the effort to go and see a rally before June it would be Kilarney
I'll still consider Wicklow though. Thanks for pointing that out.

Guffy, bit off topic but a bit of advice needed.

My sister is living in Eamont Bridge near Penrith and is looking for a Club to join with marshalling and road rallying in mind. Ideally a club that has a decent Road rally scene and also subscribes to the WAMC Association. She has looked at Eden Valley but tehy dont seem to have registered with WAMC.

At the moment looking at joining Knutsford, which I and her driverare members of...

any ideas?

Off hand, No! If she goes to an EVMC club night, then there might be someone who does know, & your sister is very handy for the clubnight venue, The Crown at Eamont Bridge, the clubnights are on the first Monday of the month & EVMC are mainly into Road rallies & 12 cars with some PCTs & Autotests thrown in, & a lot of Event marshaling,
or she might like to get in touch with Kirkby Lonsdale MC(www.klmc.org.uk) & see what they have to say on the matter.

goodluck

Guffy, I think you have missed the Pedragon out.

imull, Eden Valley are very strong in road rallying, several members will be out this weekend on the Shaw Trophy, but it's not regestered with the WAMC. I dont know of any clubs around here who are, apart from the Ford RSOC.
The next club meeting is on the 7th of Feb, 8pm at the Crown.

It might but I don't think she gets over here, I think she just stays on that other forum, I forget what it's called.
I'd better tell her you've done your good turn for the day.
