The CART Driving 101 Experience allows most anyone a chance to drive or be driven in a machine capable of 200 mph at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Acknowledging their historic ties to dirt oval racing, CART 101 extended and invitation to World of Outlaw stars to give the paved oval version a go.
"There's nothing like it," Donny Schatz proclaimed. "It's the greatest thing I've done in my life!" WOO champion Sammy Swindell commandeered CART Driving 101's specially-built two-seater and took his son Kevin for a ride he'll never forget. "That was great," said Swindell. "It was something he will remember the rest of his life, being out here at Las Vegas, going around in an Indy car." As a TNN Motorsports announcer, Ralph Sheheen has "been there, seen that." Still, he too was impressed with the Experience. "Absolutely a thrill - incredible," Sheheen exclaimed. And perhaps perennial WOO favorite Danny Lasoski said it best. "It was really great! I'll tell you what -- it gives you a perspective on what it's like for these guys (CART FedEx drivers) to run this (series). I'd like to do a lot more of it, that's for sure!" |
