Bilstein shocks
Does anyone know where to have a set of Bilstein shocks rebuilt?
I asked around at the Autosport show and I can't find anyone that does them....? Strange! |

Surely there is someone else around that rebuilds them?
There are suppliers in Australia that could possibly help but not knowing the quantum of the "£££££" its hard to know if that makes financial sense or not |

What is a set of racing shocks worth? The Heasmans ad claims a rebuild is possible from A$350 and at A2.5 = GBP1 its not that expensive

lol,
One wheel is best, cuts down on the amount of damper wear, have you seen how much it costs for a rebuild!!!!! |

The rear dampers came second hand for £30. Then another £30 for a rebuild. The fronts (sans springs) are £450.00 the pair (IIRC).
Then strut tops specially fabbed at around £200.00. So no you can't. |

Blimey. I thought I ran big negative camber! That must be close to 10 degrees!

It was in the FFF Final - second restart I believe? We went into druids side by side (for seventh). I had the inside line and as we turned he kind of forgot I was there - bosh! theres goes my nose! In fareness I was still attached, but its rather worse for wear! He hit my wheel too, after that handled funny! Call it a beer and we are even! |

Justin - Mike Edgar seems to have a soft spot at Druids - best you remind him about when he "boshed" Mark Marchant into me in the winter series in 1990 - he managed to get off scot free and we took about out the rest of the field. I managed to take out my two teammates ..... less than a dozen cars restarted! Also remind him of how he totalled a FVL at Mallory with Cotterill - down the Stebbe straight!!
Now lets not even get started on Andrew MacCauley in his Swift battering ram in 91!! |

(Almost) back to the thread... discovered some info that might just help somebody out.
I've got a Zetec chassis with alloy Konis on I'm converting to FF1600. Trying to find some decent second-hand steel-bodied kiddies (adjustable) is like trying to find the proverbial hens' teeth. New Ohlins are £1,500 plus the Vat for the set - no thanks. Quick, speculative call to Koni asking if my alloys can be rebodied to steel. No problem - £30 each... |

And Peter Mallett, I think the 10 degree negative camber is a trick of the camera....it looks nothing like that really. |
