Not easy for the "superballasted" cars.
Second sessions results on FIA-GT site... And the Mazzas are one second faster... |

Hope they are sandbagging If not, I would expect them to be 2 to 3 seconds faster

#1 BMS Ferrari is on pole before the 2 Maseratis (that only did 4 laps in the qualifying 2; sandbagging? )

Don't assume sandbagging, the BMS 550 is a seriously fast machine

Who cares about the others? The point is that everyone was all doom and gloom about the Maseratis joining the series and how they would be lapping 2-3 secs a lap faster than everyone else, and it hasnt happened. Sure its won a race, but so far I dont feel its done any harm to the series, in fact the opposite, and its certainly raised the profile of FIA GT.

And what would have happened when Maserati was allowed to run their cars unrestricted (without this tiny rear wing, ...)? |

And with the standard restrictor... Who knows the size of the restrictors used on the Maz and those of the 550, lambo or saleen ? |

Oh please. It is starting to look like the rules makers went to the Dodge Daytona school of wing design. |

This is a great car indeed, and I hope they'll find something to enter it ; in the idea to have a real balanced grid... It makes us forget the Lambos... that I appreciate very too. |

Yeah the #24 did a faster lap in warm-up than it did in qualifying, this time would have put it in 9th place on the grid. Good to see them improving

The Maserati doesn't seem that reliable as we thought: the #33 is out with engine problems. The 2 Maseratis were 1 and 2 and the #34 Maserati is still leading.
Both Lamborghini are out |

The #34 Maserati lost the victory to the #1 BMS because of a very late pitstop (5 minutes before the end of the race). Maybe they misjudged the tire wear?

Here are the final results from the FIA GT http://www.mst-group.co.uk/result.as...nd=round10.gif Gee looks like Maserati really dominated once again huh... NOT as Ive said before they are not the fastest machines out there on outright pace at the moment and the fastest laps reflect this, as do the overall race results, the cars arent 100% reliable yet either, out of 3 races from 6 Maseratis we have had 2 DNF's so far.
Sorry Fab but looking at things at the moment id have to say things are pretty well balanceed IMO, 4 differnt kinds of car in the top 6 today, thats quite a lot of variety, in previous years ie 2000/2001 it was all Viper and Lister, now at least we have several differnt kinds of car at the front, oh and Im sorry but its not Lambourginis fault if DAMS cant run the Murcielago as well as Reiter can. |
