Alpina should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
McRae Stages

Off to Drummond Hill for the McRae stages tomorrow. Anyone one else going?
Co-incidentally it was there that I last saw Mark Lovell on the Scottish in 1986. I dug out my pics of him in the RS200. however I don't have a scanner so i will post them at a later date. (Sorry for the delay Bob)

We competed an had to retire after the first stage due to a broken steering rack caused by hitting a large rock that caused us to spin and loose a fair bit of time trying to get the car in to gear! We decided to call it quits at the first service and then went to watch SS5, Colin Mcrae was amazing! maximum attack. Jimmy was equally impressive although the mk2 was bouncing a heck of a lot due to knackered rear suspension! Loads of people were complaining about the condition of the stages, we were running car 100 and we thought that SS1 was really good in places but some bit were bad, admittedly we didn't see the rest of them. Seeing Colin in the 6R4 almost made up for not finishing. Speyside next!!

I was marshalling so I got to drive on the stage. I used to marshall Drummond Hill every summer when it was part of the Scottish so I know the roads very well as we used to have a bit of fun on them.
SS4 was the second run through Drummond Hill and one retiree said it cut up really badly. The worst incident was the Astra of a Mr Greer. It ended up 60ft down a bank on its roof. Drummond Hill is for the brave.
