Old Road Atlanta - The Dip AKA Gravity Cavity
Just watched the 1992 IMSA GTP race where Geoff Brabham had a massive shunt reminiscent of Jacques Villenueve's shunts at Eau Rouge as the car was overloaded compression.
How fearsome was this corner? America's answer to Eau Rouge? How easy flat out was it? |

This is a good place to go regarding the incidents at that point on the track.
http://www.mulsannescorner.com/RoadAtlanta1992.html The right-hander over the brow before the dip was flat-out, and 200-205+mph in a top 1992 GTP. You hit the brakes at the bottom of the dip, or just starting up to the crest under the bridge. |

The first time I went through there (1971?) I just about tossed my cookies. From then on Road Atlanta was my favorite track, of course any elevation changes were a thrill for a kid from Kansas.

Glad to see I'm not the only one from this neck of the woods on here.
