Peugeot MI 16 engine needed

Hi after destroying my motor at Lydden I am in desperate need of a new motor as the head is damaged, the piston has a huge hole in it and the block has a chunk missing out the side of the bore😯😯😯
Anyone know where these a good unit laying around for decent money as all the good ones on the net are stupid money ....

Either way - it's a broken MI16 head and a ventilated block so it's new bits all round. Hope you get it sorted soon, the car was looking good at Lydden.

Hi Damonssm

I guessed its a 2L as the bottom end is a cast block but will need to get the mapping redone when i have the new engine built...

do you know if any other work was done or was it just a standard bottom end with the MI16 head strapped onto it?

only issues is its an old Lumination system and my local rolling road don't want to touch it so need to know who are good at remapping these as i don't want to spend more money on a new system just yet.

Anyone worked with Hi flow heads as i have spoken to them this morning and they are pricing for me now.

Marty

Hi

No software or dongle but its a standard connector did get a big manual with all the settings wrote down.

Guy at the rolling road said there a nightmare to reset so that why i need someone who can work on the system.

Will be great if you have a contact for Asa so i can discuss the car with him as i guess it was Greg roses car originally by the color but would like to know its history.

Marty,

You could consider switching to the GTI6 engine. More available, cheaper and better oil control.

What sort of power/torque were you running? Also, what transmission?

I rebuilt my MI16 engine for the 206 last year and did lots of research, so if I can help, let me know.

Stu

P.S. what was the cause of the failure? Oil feed probs at a guess?

Hi Stu

Have PM you

Failure looks to be a faulty valve snapping off and causing a lot of damage as the oil pressure was ok, when i heard it go it was the first thing i check and still ok.

It had 252 bhp with 189 lbft torque

Yer it was gregs championship win stockhatch then we converted it to super mods where Asa won btrda super mods 2 years in a row with out the dongle you won't be able to get in ecu unless someone has a master 1 which only a lumanition dealer would have each ecu needs the matching dongle to get in I know it went with the car as far as I'm aware.

Are you gonna be at Mallory ??

Hi Marty

Try SpooxMotorsport in Leicester they are a Pug specialist and should have all you need for engine and also be able to help with mapping etc.

Darren Spooner: Spoox Motorsport 0116 275 14 14

I think the mapping on your car was done by Chris Bellamy at RATSPEED
