Rockingham Open Day
There will also be an Open Day on Friday 2nd September for any teams, drivers and prospective sponsors wanting more information on racing in either championships.
The SCSA Racing Open Day on Friday 2nd September, just prior to the Thunder Sunday race weekend, is an opportunity for anyone who is interested in learning more about competing in SCSA Racing, both Stock Cars and Pickup Trucks. Existing teams and drivers will be on hand to talk about setting up an SCSA team, gaining sponsorship and practical demonstrations of pitstops, 2 seat passenger rides in the Stock Cars and Pickup Trucks and Spotter-to-Driver communications. Should be a good day with plenty of free 2 seater, 170 mph rides... |

Are there any more planned in the coming month or so.
I couldn't attend due to work commitments, but I NEED to be there to sort out rookie training asap. Trying to put a deal together to run in the last round in October. |

Rookie Tests
What kind of racing background do you come from, racing59? And were you planning to do the Pick Up Truck or Stock Car rookie test?

I'm sure that new drivers now have to do the Pick ups first, before going to SCSA.

My background is circuit racing, my avatar is my current car - Vauxhall Astra Saloon - ex-Thundersaloon - 403ci Chevy - circa 720bhp, fun fun fun fun fun! It is my intention to be in SCSA, not pickups. I have NO intention of racing in pickups - as close as they are, they do nothing for my soul. In fact I hate to say it, but they sound like a bad f*rt, or worse still - that p*xy Barry-fied Fiat Punto that runs up and down the road outsite my house time after time after time after......
I have a sponsor close to inking a deal so I can run (subject to Rookie training) in a car at the last round. I understand that they canned the last rookie training course because there were only 6 people interested. Eh? How stupid is that. (1) that's 6 more licensed drivers (if they all pass), which could mean as many as 6 more drivers in SCSA - which it is screaming out for. If I don't get a slot for training / entry in the last round, the sponsor may walk away. Catch 22. Rob. |
