Ticket bought , and fingers crossed that no new restrictions are imposed between now and 1 November which might jeopardise my attendance. CSCC always put on a good show and Mallory is a cracking place to watch racing cars close up .

I haven't spectated at a motor race event yet this year but this one really tempts me! I always wander around the paddock at lunch time but guess that'll be out of bounds. I don't know if the burger stands will be operating - should've looked when I was doing my mechanic duties at the 750 meeting the other week. Ho hum, flask and a bag of crisps then! Hope the weather's reasonable.

Spectators are only allowed on the outside of the circuit, there are catering facilities next to the footbridge.
Hope you enjoy it. |

Sorely tempted but the 7 hour round trip is a bit of a hassle!
Details here: https://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/mallory Decent grids and the modsports and saloons will no doubt be spectacular as usual. |

I'd love to go to this, but will most likely be in Tier 3 by then. I'll have to settle for Imola on TV.

It was wild wet and windy at Castle Combe today but the CSCC put on a great show with large grids and amazing variety. I am sure they will be as good at Mallory. I have fond memories of European F2 at Mallory in the seventies and am pleased it is continuing to recover as a circuit. Bit far from Salisbury but I hope to revisit again one day.

Because its only a 1 day meet and of course the hours of light are shorter, a lot of the races are effectively being combined, with all the 70s upwards cars effectively being in one race - not surprisingly fully subscribed with many reserves Entry lists are available on the CSCC website: https://68403ce7-faa5-44b9-9ba0-313b...a88087e9bb.pdf

Decent end to my motorsport season. little rain and the strong winds were blowing warmish air.
Managed 1 event pre and 4 post lockdown. Not much when a normal year would have 25-35 meetings but thankfull to see any racing after lockdown. |

A damp start and the odd shower. Lots of photos taken. Will post link to Flickr when I have worked through them.
I'd defy most people to spot the (rapid) Lancia Stratos modsport of Matt Manderson. |

Which bears as much resemblance - visually and aurally - to a Stratos as I do . Very impressive car though.
The highlight for me was watching the TVRs exiting the hairpin - squirrelly as hell in the damp and ballistic in the dry. |

He certainly looked quick yesterday but on Thursdays Test Day a GT3 911 made him look quite normal.

I wonder if it bears any relation to Simon Knighton's Stratos - that was (I think) bike powered and started out as a Suzuki SC100.

Felt sorry for Joss Ronchetti who was going so well in 2nd in "The Bullet" until a ten pence pin broke in the gear linkage and left him stuck in 3rd gear.

Talbot Sunbeam Lotus I think. Very fast, WC, but seems more rallye oriented as were the Opels of the same era. The Escort showed good track abilities.
