DTM at Brands Hatch
Is anyone going to the DTM race at Brands Hatch. I definitely want to go, but I don't wanna sit in the Paddock Hill stands.
I prefer to sit opposit the pit building, but those seats don't go on sale until Paddock Hill has been sold out (or so I have been told by the ticket office). I have called the ticket office about 3 times now, the first time being about 2 months ago and the Pit grandstands are still not on sale yet. This can only mean poor ticket sales if you ask me... Am I going to be the only spectator on the 2nd July? |

Hopefully it will atract a bigger crowd than the last last two times DTM came over Donnington!! But I am slightly sceptical. |

I'm planning on going on the Sunday. The DTM was awesome at Donington and the cars looked and sounded great at the test at Brands earlier this year - it should be a superb event (anyone know what else is on the bill?). I'd imagine there will be quite a few people there - MSV will be pushing it once the WTCC meeting is out of the way (that's getting a lot of exposure at the moment including TV adverts).

We'll be there after a week in le mans too, (me and my dad). i reckon it will be as big an event as the WSBK usually is there, or the A1 gp was.
No need to sit in a stand, just sit in the paddock dip and you can see 75 - 80% of the track! WTCC aswell soon! Cya'll |

DTM grandstand seating at Brands
Can anyone can tell me if the enclosure on the end of the main straight with has metal style bench seating is classed as grandstanding seating when purchasing a ticket for the DTM?
Many Thanks in advance |

I hate to state the obvious but try contacting the circuit.....!
The area you are speaking of is known as the Desire Wilson Stand (though I agree - it is more like slightly raised, tiered, seating rather than a full-blown stand). It is often open on club meetings free of charge, but having never paid to go in there on the bigger meets I am not sure of MSVs policy. I noticed last Sunday that it was very empty - only a line of people against the back wall taking shelter from the rain by the overhang of the hospitality units. I have a feeling that it mightn`t have been open to the public and it was possibly just "hospitality" types popping downstairs to watch from outside..... |

Grandstand tickets for start/finish will not be on sale. That grandstand has been sold to the teams.
General admission it will be for me... |

Was wondering the very same thing - or will it be the portable trailer job with the teeny tiny plastic orange seats (like they had a Oulton for the BTCC). Will be booking tickets next week so if anyone finds out in the meantime please let us know

Does anyone know if Friday of the DTM weekend is free, can you buy a ticket on the gates? I happen to be free that day and might pop down, as it will be a good chance to take some photos.

Friday is entry at £10.00. Grandstands are free. Pit Walkabout at £12.00 Generally; the Desiree Wilson Stand has had red bucket seats fitted on the existing bench seats. There is also a full-sized Grandstand at the bottom of Paddock Hill, on the large hard-standing outside Hailwoods Restaurant. Detials on booking from MSV. |

I'm going to be a first time visitor to Brands Hatch for the DTM race on Sunday. In terms of getting there and parked etc in reasonable time for the start of the feature race (and managing to get a reasonable spot to view) does anyone have any good ideas about how long is it likely to take to get there from the A20/M25 interchange?
Cheers! |

What did you think then?
I thoroughly enjoyed the race, although it did take till the first pit stops to really get going IMO. Weather was great, and it didnt take me 4hrs to get out the circuit
I would definetly consider seeing them race at Brands again. What did everyone else think? |
