HRO just a rumour

First off, i could be wrong as nothing has been offical announced, this is just what i heard from a holden employee. Appartently the Team launch was today, and there is no HRO. Just Mark Skaife, and Todd Kelly at HRT as expected, Murph, and Brighty at K-mart, and Rick Kelly sticking to the young lions again.

Well, if it was, they're managing to keep that pretty quiet then - no mention on Sports Tonight.

Depending on where the person is employed by Holden, I doubt they would they let people outside the loop know what's going on before the big announcement.

GTR when is the motorsport show on in Melbourne. It seems they are keeping all the same drivers but just moving them around. I am just happy that Skaifey is staying with the Red Machines.

Its on the back page of AA which is on my desk @ work

I think its the weekend Konica is on, in 3 weeks

The inaugural Australian Motorsport Show presented by Xbox, is scheduled for 21-23 February, 2003 at the Royal Exhibition Buildings – Melbourne, and promises to be the definitive industry exhibition. Effectively the event will be the season launch of all motorsport, providing opportunities for industry, trade, media and public to get a sneak preview of the 2003 years attractions

The HRT is certainly a family organization. If you're family they'll look after you.

From my sources, as few as they are, HRO doesn't exist. At the very least as the name HRO.

HRO hasnt been registered as a name yet... it could be in process

The fun bit is whether Holden Ltd has bought TWRA

www.hro.com.au hasn't been registered yet either. www.hro.com was registered in 1994 by someone in the USA.

But Holden motorsport is isnt it? HRO coould be a term they are using as a name and not the actual name, Like Holden Racing Company or just Holden Racing and it is an organisation. They will have it all worked out but i do wonder it TWRA is involved and so do lots of other people. So maybe literaly it might not be HRO but the will all come under Holden as factory teams?

I think you'll find that Holden wants to distance itself from Walkinshaw. In fact I would think they will try to buy him out. It will cost them plenty.

What would they be buying out though, TWR's share in HSV?

If they did that they would be cutting themselves off from TWR and all their so-called overseas expertise.

HRO is different from Holden Motorsport

I asked Peter Brock what HRO stood for when getting autographs at Summernats.... its been established to manage the racing operations of 3 teams, HRT, KRT & Team Brock and no other team

Holden Motorsport exists as a separate entity to HRO, to manage the motorsport activities of the other Holden contracted teams like CPR, GRM, PMM, LRT and the like, as well as the one offs like Targa Tasmania, Targa NZ, Adelaide Rally etc etc and will continue to do so once HRO is put into place

I would suggest the local operation of HSV and HRT/KRT/Team Brockis self sufficient enough to manage without the European link on a day to day basis, indeed if any help was required, I am sure it could be contraced from TWR Europe for a fee.

Assuming this is real and not a figment of my imagination

Agree with you there Moff - the magazine is garbage. But the website can be handy for little bits of official information like this.
