V8SCFC'10: R9 Phillip Island 500
Coming back into it after such a long break, I very nearly instinctively reset everyones points back to zero Top Ten
Brendon Engineering used the increased supply of cheap labour to full effect, nailing the win at the year's first enduro. L&P World Famous Racing just held off Zoom Motorsport and Lego Racers for second, with series leader ANZAC Racing rounding out the top five. Congrats to island giants Mark Skaife, Cam McConville, Jack Perkins, and Shane Price! Hard Charger Award Andrew Denman Racing snared the Hard Charger Award with a fine run at the Island, gaining six championship places. The only other team on the move was race winner Brendon Engineering, who vaulted themselves into the midst of the top ten with a four place gain. Biggest Loser Award Surprisingly little backwards motion was seen at the Island, with a 3 place drop enough to get the gong for Team Bourbonfone, Rombles Racing, and BF&I Racing. Standings:
After the recent gains made by EBXR8 Red Bull Motorsport, ANZAC Racing showed they were really just toying with them by instantly doubling their series lead. Eagle Motorsport sit alone in third, but they'll have to look anxiously over their shoulder in the coming weeks with B.O.R.I.N.G. and L&P World Famous Racing poised for an attack... |

9 FROM 9
HCM is thrilled with their weekend at the island posting their 9th top 10 finish from 9 rounds this year and taking an even bigger lead in the 2010 V8SCFC, "there is still a few more rounds to go before I can feel like we will have this chamionship in the bag, so we aren't letting it get to us yet. Anything can still happen" Team owner Hayden to media today.
In other news HCM is close to putting pen to paper with a new major sponser for the 2011 season and is likely to annonce key details before the end of the season. |
