Historic Group C/GTP
Some good info on the Historic Group C/GTP series in this months Motor Sport. Anyone know the history of some of the cars. Obviously the Jags are all ex-TWR, what about the various Spices/Tigas/Porsches ?

No, you're Ok, Tony; it's still advertised for the February issue. I think that Dan is referring to the 2005 Review of the series of races for these cars, which appears in the January issue. An excellent year for David Mercer in the Spice.

Dan
Most of the non-Jaguars were run by privateer teams as the majority of Group C cars were in period. Porsches were run by teams like Kremer, Joest, Brun, etc. Other makes by stalwarts like Chamberlain and Roy Baker. Some of the GTP cars like the Nissans were works entries. |

Hello,
Would be nice to see some of the "Works" Porsche 956/962 Rothmans or Shell cars appearing in the series to race. I presume collectors have some of them. I saw (on Eurosport) the "Works" Lancia LC2 cars at Le Mans in 2004 and I think they have been raced elsewhere. Great historic series from my all time favourite series. Nick |

There are a few Rothmans cars around, both 956 and 962. All 3 Shell cars are in the US with the Hsu brothers. They really are spectacular aren't they.

Just a quick note to confirm that the February issue of Motorsport carries the promised article about the Group C era. Andy Wallace reminisces with Richard Heseltine and also gives his impression of driving XJR-12D, 962 and Spice SE90C around Donington, recently.
