An Historic Lap of Silverstone?

I am trying to put together a voice over for a lap of Silverstone GP circuit where each corner is identified with some major incident/event;

ie. Hanger Straight where a de-frocked priest decided to take a stroll during the race one year.

There are a number of happenings for some corners, but I would be grateful for any suggestions. I am aiming for a mix of incidents and some with an historic feel, anything from 1948 to 2014.

You can post here or PM me and I will acknowledge your efforts.

Fingers crossed,

Bauble.

Many thanks all, please keep them coming, some I already had in mind, but many more I had forgotten. Or never knew.

I hope to get a mix of accident/incident/amusing or unusual happenings.

Some one mentioned a Rolls Royce catching fire at Farm/Villageile simply driving round the circuit. Any further information on this?

If other than F1 incidents, but related. Hamilton's pass three-wide through Becketts in GP2 in 2006

The double deck bus at a mid 90's GP. Race day morning, the driver decided that he couldn't be bothered to wait for the other vehicles to clear the gap just after Club, so he tried to force his way past the line of vehicles, by driving through the gravel trap. Surprisingly, he didn't make it!

Well it would appear that his Sat Nav told him to turn right instead of left into Priory, making an awful mess of the tyre wall and causing an observer to spill his cocoa...

I think that was a part of the mandatory underwear evaluation protocol which was compulsory after any major incident back then.

1975 British GP. With about 11 laps to go, a rain storm hit Club Corner, the result was a multiple pile up with the race being red flagged and only 5 or 6 cars finishing. I was in the main stand and saw Jarrier go off, prior to the chaos at Club. Will never forget it.

YouTube have highlghts, with commentary by Sir Jackie Stewart.
