I have to split mine into two categories.
Drivers I've grown up with: Nigel Mansell Mika Hakkinen were the two I have supported. However, I also have favourites from before I was born, some legends, some heroes. Names such as: Jim Clark Ronnie Peterson Gilles Villeneuve Clay Regazzoni Out of them all, it would be Hakkinen as I've supported him since the very beginning until the cows eventually came home. |

I like a lot of drivers for different reasons, but I love Gilles Villeneuve for a lot of reasons.
Don't hate any of them |

Most hated? How did we turn this one around? I don't think I have ever hated any driver. I didn't care too much for Prost at the time he and Senna were at war, but that was only because had Senna been given the same team supremacy that Schumacher had with Benetton and now Ferrari, he would have won so many more races. But now I have the utmost respect and dare I say even liking of the little Frenchman and have no trouble accepting how good he was.
The only drivers I have disliked are those who clearly haven't deserved to be driving a car at what is supposed to be the pinnacle of motor sport - and even then I don't hate them - if I had the money and a thumbnail's worth of talent, I would do exactly the same! |

I agree, how can you HATE any driver, you don't even know them?
With that said, I enjoy seeing Shumi Sr. lose because of the way he handled himself against Hill and JV, but even then, I don't hate him. I also don't like the playboy lifestyle of DC, but I don't hate him. Back to the original, for some reason, I really liked Michelle Albereto (excuse the spelling) growing up. A true racer, too bad he had to go like he did. Last edited by zealot; 25 Oct 2001 at 18:00. |

The only absolute favourites I've ever had (as a relative newcomer to F1) are Damon Hill and (of course) Ralf. At the moment, as well as Ralf, I like de la Rosa, Alonso, Heidfeld and Raikkonen.

Favourites...
Happy thoughts. Stirling Moss - a racer's racer, a showman, a gentleman and a thoroughly nice chap to meet. Jackie Stewart - What can I say - I was 4 when I first saw him race. These things stick...! Michele Alboreto - made a turbocar dance like no one else - and that includes Senna and Prost. Stefan Bellof - He was going to be so good, and then we lost him so damned early. Clay Regazzoni - He made being Ferrari's man fun. Not easy in the 1970s! Rudolf Caracciola - The original regenmeister. Archie Scott-Brown - Handicapped from birth, and yet he still won with the mighty Listers. Sir Henry Birkin - Well, what did you expect? The fastest Bentley driver of all, and a Brooklands specialist. Of course I'm going to be a fan! Tom Delaney - see him race his Lea Francis at the VSCC and you'll understand... |

Right now it would either be Alonso or Heidfeld.
I wasn't around to see Tom Pryce (one unlucky guy) or Mark Donahue (after reading his autobiography, he became #1). |
