Mitsubishi enters FIA ETC Cup!
Today was announced Dutch driver Niek Oude Luttikhuis will enter the super production class of the FIA European Touring Car Cup race at the Salzburgring in July. The Dutchman of Pro East Racing will drive a Mitsubishi........Carisma. This car was built for the 2000 season of DTCC. In 2001 and 2002 it was used in BTCC.
See this for more info (in Dutch) and photos. |

sadly neither the car nor the ETC has any charisma.
Thank you, I'm here all week. On a serious note, nice to see another make of car in international TC competition. |

Even though the car is old he might still have chances to win his class. Remember, even Fabiani won the Production class before.
What makes me wonder is that he has #3. Are there no S2000 cars entered? Only other thing I've heard so far is that Procar team Bingler Motorsport will join with one (or more) Fiesta S1600. |

Damn, got to wait a few more years before some pulls out an Evo X touring car. It would still make an amazing touring car...

José Monroy raced an EvoX in the Portuguese touring car championship until last year (the series now no longer exist).

Wasn't there an Evo chassis with Carisma body in DNRT?

I noticed that as well about him having number 3 on the car, although maybe it's just on the car for the photo - like the original artwork of the ROAL WTCC BMW this year had 8 on the side. I think both Okyay and Engstrom said earlier in the year that they were hoping to enter, it would be nice to get into double figures with the S2000 cars but I can't see the entry list being too thrilling unfortunately, would love to be proved wrong. Does anyone know if the 1.6l turbos are allowed in this year? EDIT: Just looked at Neil Hudson's twitter and he's replied to someone saying that he believes the 1.6t is allowed but doubts any will be available Last edited by Jon411; 23 Jun 2011 at 21:49. |

Totally forgot about Rikli Motorsport! My above statements of no S2000 cars make no sense now.
Peter Rikli should drive a Honda Civic FD S2000, Jörg Schori should drive a Honda Accord S2000 and they will also help Michael Zemp who is bringing the Mercedes C200. http://www.rikli-motorsport.ch/index.php?programm However this year Procar is not visiting the event, so there might be less German entries. |
