changes for 2002
It seems this year the British GT's will have 30 minutes free practice and then seperate qualifying sessions.
There will also be success ballast as per the touring cars last year. sounds good to me |

I personally have never been too sure about success ballast, surely it should be up to the slower guys to make the difference?

It should make qualifying a lot more interesting to watch.
The idea is to reduce the costs as some of the smaller teams couldn't do much testing so this will assist the smaller teams. I hope this will not mean the end of the testing in the week beforehand. |

There'll not be any of this "success ballast" on raceday though, surely?

They should be made to carry the prize money in £1 coins in the boot as a weight penalty. I can just see the track invasion every time a car hits the barrier

I think the testing in the week previous has been curtailed as well. It was felt the smaller teams couldn't afford it and were using half their qualifying session changing set ups.
As for the success ballast - that didn't stop Vauxhall last year. |

Do you think we could persuade the ACO to make the Audi's carry success ballast at Le Mans this year?
