I really wonder why are they returned in f1: to cancel the glory of the past with a less than mediocre present engine? What a shame! |

I too am really surprised at how low the Honda engine is - it would explain a lot...

Explain how Jarno got so high up on the grid frequently this year?
I believe that the Honda horsepower is higher than stated in this comparison...and that the Jaguar has a slightly lesser out put. Meanwhile, i have read somewhere that Sauber's unit is improved over the standard Ferrari (as used in the Prost) and i wouldn't be surprised if its true...Sauber do have the technical capabilities to tune an engine... |

I have my doubts about the validity of some of these figures: most notably Honda's and Minardi's. In fact, I think there is more guess work in this compilation than reality. I suspect that the BMW, Ilmour, Ferrari and Honda teams's engine power is not constant, but varies month to month depending what extra tuning upgrades the factories can achieve. Hondad's power last year initially was quite low, but once they got reliablity, they upped the power with some fine tuning.
To be honest, I think AMoffat can probably come up with more reliable figures, depending on the type of mushrooms the guy is on at any one time. |

I agree VB, these are guesses at best. I noticed they did'nt give a source at that site.
It's interesting to remember that Honda & BMW entered at the same time and look at the difference. I really expected Honda to be on the pace by now. Toyota should shake them up. I think Honda should try and get into McLaren. They need a Top team to take them to the next level. |
