News about 2014 regulations !
Some very serious informations have been leaked from the officiel staff of FIA about the future regulations for 2014.
It concerns the globalization of only one kind of engine for all prototypes... and GTs ! It will be a 4 cylinders, 1,6 litres max with a turbo. It will deliver aroud 300 hp. The difference in speed and lapping will depend on the weight of the cars and the diameter of restrictors. It's said also that the maximum energy allowed for the hybrid systems will be raised from 500 to 1000 kj. In order to cut down investments for this global downsizing, a single manufacturer will be chosen : Nissan and Renault are mentioned, but also Peugeot (from which GM has got 7% of capital account). I'm very surprised that this policy of a single engine will be also applied for the GT categories ; so we could have on circuits Porsche-Nissan RSR, Ferrari-Renault 416, Corvette-Peugeot 90?, etc. I don't have any link toward any article relating this, but a friend of mine who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows the President of FIA has been told about this story... A nightmare ? |

@PascaLM: Still 32 minutes to go until April Fools
As you can read in http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...26#post3051226 Autosport magazine also got hold of a leaked document and that document mention completely different technical rules: fuel flow restrictor instead of air restrictor, engine displacement limited to 5000 cc and 8 MJ of hybrid energy release. |

However even the rumors reported by autosport doesn't make me happy, because it seems that cars will be selected more because of type of hybrid system than the engine... even fuel flow isn't a good new in my opinion because doesn't give the same freedom in engine set-up to the teams as happens now with air restictors |

No freedom? The engine will be completely free. No more tables for air restrictor size and boost pressure for different engine displacements. Just a fuel flow restriction that solely depends on thecalorific power of the used fuel type.

Yes because Ferrari and Porsche would let their cars race with another manufacturers engine in them. Yes of course they would have no problems with that-just like in the past Its april fools day here too. |

Yeah , but you could imagine it though ..... and to be honest , if its a x proto , why couldnt they do it . If its been done with the DW , why not reverse it as there are no rules .....
