Same Names - maybe a repeat ???

Laying back last night thinking about the upcoming Bob Jane T Marts Bathurst 1000.

I thought geez how many times have thew name Brock, Perkins and Richards (jim and Steve) appeared in the top 3 of the Bathurst 500 and 1000 klm races since it was frist run on mount paranoia in 1963, So I pulled out my History books.

It would be nice for old time sake to see (even though it would mean a Holden 1 2 3) the 3 names above on the podium in a week or so.

Yeah its been that way since 1987 or actually by the time apeals etc were heard it was probably 1988 because the two Texaco Sierras that crossed the line 1- 2 were disqaulified.

He and Bowe were extremly unlucky not to win. They got caught in the pits when the last pace car came out and that put them behind Brock

Brock registered a win and a DNF in '83 and '87
John Bowe managed 2 DNF's (#17 & #28) and 2nd place (#18) in 1988.

Seton was very lucky not to win the '87 race, he got caught at the end of the pits under yellow, therefore losing a lap, during the same caution that cost the Ludwig/Neidzweidz Sierra a lap on the lead Soper/Diuedonne Sierra.

That car control across the top was fantastic though

I don't think there was one new face on the podium this year, they'd all been up there before.
