season highlight is always the Norisring race in Nuremberg, season opener or season finale in Hockenheim are also nice

you probably will have the best chances to meet a driver on a friday, but that doesnt mean its impossible on a sunday

Zandvoort could be easy for you - fly EU jet to Amsterdam, then take the train to Zandvoort, it takes about an hour and you have to change at Leiden. The circuit is 500m from zandvoort train station. Hotels in Zandvoort will be impossible, but can be obtained in Leiden for about 60 quid per room per night. Leiden to Zandvoort is about 30 mins. Tickets aren't on sale yet but start at about 10 pounds

If you are going with a group of persons you could consider, if you're going to Zandvoort, renting a bungalow at the Gran Dorado right next to the circuit. You've got a big chance of meeting the drivers on the same bungalow park as well.

I hated the Lausitzring. Too many fences.
