Hmm.. but seriously.... can't see there being any change in all honesty, unless Mika has a dramatic anouncement come the end of the year...

Actually, I've been mulling this one for awhile. In the latest F1 magazine, (the "official" mag of Bernie world) Wurz is getting A LOT of positve press. If F1 really is "scripted" in any way, would it not be possible that AW is being trotted out to guage reaction and to keep him fresh in people's minds? McLaren IS one of the big teams in F1 and its drivers garner a fair degre of noteriety by virtue of their appointment. Wurz is very strong Technically,(close to an engineering degree) speaks German, (Mercedes is happy), is wholesome and athletic (media Friendy) and supposedly VERY good with Clients and sponsors (makes Ron happy).
I still am convinced that Mika is on the way out but is unwilling to annouce it yet for any number of reasons. I will not be surprised if McLaren fields Wurz and Coulthard in 2002. |

I think Ron Tennis will be after KIMI, and apply the lock you up in a room technique again. Webber maybe as test driver.

McLaren's lineup will stay the same in 2002 as it is now, Hakkinen and Coulthard.

Hakkiman, I read the press releases and I don't believe them. If Mika stays on, I'll be thrilled-I just don't think he will. And I also believe it to be very much his style to keep any decision to himself and not make it a matter of Public Record until he in fact retires. We all saw how "gracefully" Damaon Hill bowed out, destroying in one short season much of the good will he had created during his career.

Yes, Bononi, (and thank you) I do think he could change his mind and stay, but for his own sake, I think he should leave gracefully, he has nothing left to prove.

I think behind the scenes there is alot of tension between DC and Mr Dennis which will end up with DC leaving and going to Jordan to replace Frentzen assuming they get the Honda deal.
Or..there will be no change which is very very very boring |
