Audi on LMS
According to a Portuguese motorsport news website (www.sportmotores.com), Audi Sport is preparing to announce on Essen Motorshow, in December, a full Le Mans Series Season entry.
According to this rumor, that will happen with 2 R10 TDi driven by pilots already in the Audi Sport structure. DTM and ALMS participation do not depend of this project and it will continue. Team Joest is possible to be the engaging team, but a substantial Audi national affiliate support could put Joest chances away... |

This would confirm Dr. Ullrich's insinuation to SpeedTV as discussed in other threads, cannot imagine better news for LMS. Now it's time to start ADVERTISING the series!!!!

Spa twice next year then?
Assuming the 24Hours is GT again... I wonder if they do a season ticket for Channel ferries? |

Is this truly good news for the LMS and the teams currently running there? Yes, it'll be good to see the R10 run in the series, but I think its going to be at the expense of the current teams.
Time will tell i guess. |

What Audi would bring is two manufacturers with serious programmes going eyeball to eyeball, which can only be good news. We're already seeing some consolidation of the teams in the LMS - as has been pointed out elsewhere - Pescarolo-Nicholet, Creation-AIM, Courage-Acura for example, and seeing a bit of a shake out of those that have been struggling (very sadly, Racing for Holland probably falls into this category), so it's feasible that next year we'll see and increasingly motivated grid in LMP1 with resources to back it all up. Could be a cracking season with battles all the way through the order. Keeping everything crossed that Audi do in fact show up. |

we need an Audi effort in LMS, Joest or any other factory backed team, the 908 domination must end, as the races this year are horrible to watch on Motors

Personally I thought the commentry was better when David Leslie was in the commentry box, when it was just Mark Cole and whoever else they decided to chuck in the commentry was pretty dodgy. IMO.

Mark Cole is an ok commentator
Is the other guy you're thinking of Carlton Kirby? He's worse than James Allen most of the time. He was incapapable of telling the difference between Ickx's car and the Adam Carroll/Markus Winklehock car in the DTM this year. Despite the fact that Ickx's car has massive Castrol logos on it. |

Mark Cole is bearable, not what id call good though by any strech. I agree with you about Kirby though, ive suffered years of hearing his voice thanks to Motors TV's DTM coverage.

Peugeot need genuine factory competition, no doubt. The privateer teams are also well aware of what they need to do, Creation, Oreca-Courage, Pescarolo, they're all upping their game. There are few week links amongst the P1 field, but maybe next year you'll need reliabilty AND genuine pace for top placings. |

If Audi comes there better can make 3 titles in LMP1. 1 for overal and 1 fr diesel and 1 for petrol. Otherwise the other team are maybee going to think that they are driving for nothing.

Joest is obviously the top candidate for the team, but among others, is Team Veloqx still in existance? Considering they won the inaugural Le Mans Endurace Series season (2004)...
