economy_waffle should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
i want a ban on the 10 second stop/go penalty

i want the fia to ban the 10 second stop/go penalty on contact as it ruins races with people getting them often have little faults eg. they brushed a rival car and the car spun into gravel trap - it prob wasnt intetional...it would certainly spice up boring races!!!

Sorry, I don't agree. If they don't want a penalty they shouldn't cut corners, or speed in the pitlane. I do agree though that they shouldn't get them for just accidentally hitting another car.

You know the saying "If you can't do the time then don't do the crime",In other words if you can't win by playing by the rules then you shouldn't win.

What I don't agree with is like where DC had a car problem in Canada last year, and the mechanics came onto the grid and did stuff to the car - that was a team decision, yet the it was the driver who had to pay for it first and foremost...

Don K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

David made a mistake just before the start, which caused his engine to stop.
And there probably was not quite enough time left for the mechanics to return to the grid, start David's engine, and get off the track 10 seconds before the start.

So you think the team should have decided not to help David, and he should have started the race from the pits in his spare car?

He would have been better off waiting until the grid went past him - like at Monaco - a 10-second stop-go penalty is worse than starting at the back of the grid....but he suffered through a team decision, is what I'm trying to say...

I think it would be better for the penalty to be a simple drive through the pitlane at the speed limit. This would still be a penalty but not quite as hefty as the 25-30second loss of the current "stop-go" penalty.

I really don't see the ten sec penalty is such a big deal. It is a helluva lot better than having the car black flagged. Messing around with a car when the grid is supposed to be cleared makes sure the cars can go off on the formation lap without running over a mechanic or some equipment - this is a safety requirement. Speeding in the pit lane during a race can cause a serious accident. Think about it. What's so difficult with switching on the speed limiter?

i believed that in some circumstances, a 10s stop/go penalty is really too much.

For example, Mika's jumpstart at Malaysia last year...i would prefer if the penalty is just a drive through of the pits...a stop to a standstill at the end of the pits, before you blast of immediately out. It would cost approximately 15s...which i believe is sufficient punishment for a jumpstart which benefits less than 2s...

In yachting, a jump start means disqualification if you don't go back to re-start from behind the start line. With all the electronic controls nowadays, there is really no excuse for a jump start, although McLaren's is closer to a lunch control.

hmm i originally meant for like accidental hits...usually u can tell instantly if sum1 has purposefully punted sum1 off...pit lane speeding, now that deserves a stop/go penalty. i still think that the idea of just going in the pits, and driving thru is enough of a penelty...
