I'd have Loeb in for the win on this one - should be interesting behind him though as I'd expect Sordo to be quick as well. Hirvonen needs some big points from this one and hopefully the Subarus will be on it too.

Sounds like Gigi has had a big accident, Autosport are saying he'll be out of action for 5 months:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/69819 Sad news, he's one of the biggest characters in the WRC and he's my personal favourite. |

Galli broke his leg in a big off on stage 5, undergoing surgery this evening. Co-driver taken to hospital as well but is ok.

There is a vid of the accident from an in-car shot and a bit from Malcolm Wilson here - it's not too "gory" or anything but does show how the steering wheel and that structure moved a lot.

Good performance from Duval there beating Hirvonen - that's not helped Hirvonens cause regarding the championship though. Sordo delivered in the second C4 too as expected, both Imprezas getting to the end as well although thy're some way off the pace

Really? I didn't think it would have been so was surprised to see it move that much.

That has to be at least the third rally Gigi has crashed out of. What is happening to him?
Did anyone hear the Latvala interview where he seemed quite hard on himself, he said he was making too many silly mistakes and that something wasn't right up here - pointing to his head. There was another brief shot of him looking somewhat exasperated and a bit close to tears. Anyway, does anyone know if the P-WRC and J-WRC rally highlights are been shown on any channel in the UK? They used to be on Motors TV last year if I remember correctly. |

They sometimes show it on Dave - I think it's on the programmes between rallies, if that makes sense. It's called World Rally : Access all Areas and it's on this Sunday, from 6pm for an hour. Not sure if it's being shown before, but the episode guide for Sunday says "the team preview the New Zealand rally and look back at the highlights of the Junior World Championship in Germany."

Thanks Suze. I will keep an eye out. It would be good to see some brief highlights just to see who is doing what and where.
According to the official WRC site, Duval will be replacing Gigi in New Zealand. |

Well Duval had a good run in Germany so he's a logical choice to fill the seat - does that leave another seat open (the one Duval was in in Germany) or will they just drop a car? If not who should be getting that drive?

I just heard today that the car Gigi crashed was due to be driven by Willie Stobart, with Boyzone's Shane Lynch co-driving, in this weekends Stobart Rail Pendragon Stages.
I hope M-Sport can find a replacement car P.S. Due to the wonderful British summer weather we have been having there will be no spectator access to any stages on this years Pendragon Rally. The managers of Lowther Estates say the ground is too waterlogged to allow the general public access this year, and as usual the MoD don't want hordes of rally fans wandering all over the Warcop ranges. I think they are worried that somebody will step on a discarded live shell P.P.S. I hope the mods don't mind me hi-jacking this thread, but I know several readers of these forums regularly come to spectate at the Pendragon, so I don't want them to have a wasted trip |

Hasn't Kris been more involved with Subaru recently? I thought he'd run a semi works car in one of the Irish events? (or is my memory playing up again? ). Incidentally Kris Meeke will be at Lydden on bank holiday Monday driving a rage buggy at the rallycross meeting.

He ran a Subaru at WRC Ireland 2007, I don't think it was a factory job though. That yellow one..
