HELP pictures needed

Hi all

i am building a replica holden racing team walkinshaw and need some pictures so i can get the paint sceem correct. Now alot of you might be thinking of the HRT VL that won the 1990 race but i am wanting to make the previous one where they made one in Australia by Larry and one in the UK and shiped it out to australia for the bathurst 1000. it was driven by Walkinshaw and had rear suspention failure.

any pics or info on where to get pics anything would be a great help.

thanks.

The 1990 winning car is the same one that Tom and his band of merry men couldn't make last the morning a few years earlier, (rear suspension failure!) Autopics dot com dot au might be able to help.

Rush, i believe you are referring to 1988 and i don't believe they had come up with the HRT name by that stage. I think the cars were entered by HSV.

If you can find a book or video on Bathurst 1988, you should be able to get plenty of pictures. The cars were big news.

There are some good close up pictures of that car in a magazine dedicated to the '89 Sandown race, including an underbonnet shot, but I can't remember what it's called. I'll check to see if I still have it. Otherwise I think the '88 Great Race book would be the go.

The team definitely wasn't HRT at that time and even HSV weren't sure what to call themselves - 'SV' was their signature at the time, note the 'SV' on the side of the car. Note also that the first car in that series of pics being driven by Perkins is the old HDT VL in similar livery which was used until the VL 'Walkinshaw' was available.

wow i never noticed it before, but the n#10 perkins preped car has a black line above the grey from front to back, while the UK based/built car only has the grey line, no black above it.

i like the look of the perkins built car
