What do you currently consider are the 3 fastest cars in the world and why ?
At this point in time, what are your current picks of the 3 fastest
cars (in speed terms) in the world (which can include any F1 car/s) and please separately say why, for each car named. |

You seem to be asking for an subjective opinion on an issue that is completely objective?
It's not a case of why I think, it just is. There are also too many variables. In terms of actual flat out top speed, F1 cars come no where near what is possible in a car. But try getting a dragster/rocket car around a track! EDIT: Although looking at your previous post history, I'm not holding out on a reply. Good luck with your school report. |

Fastest in speed terms eh?! Do you mean terminal velocity (top speed)? Or acceleration (rate of change of velocity)? Or quickest round a track (highest average speed)?
F1 will only win the last one, and even then it depends on which track. As you started this in the F1 I will submit the Red Bull (seems the quickest at the moment) around Spa (we'll see in a few weeks...). Terminal velocity is beaten by some road cars, but the fastest of that will be dependent on who is running at Bonnville. Acceleration (depending on start and end speed) is probably a dragster. |

Button's Bugatti Veyron is available to anyone who wishes to prove a point and has just over a million euros to spare.

I remember reading about the contract you had to sign to buy a veyron. Apparently VW have power of veto on the sale of the car forever, if they don't like the person buying it . |

Haha, does anyone know theoretically the top speed of an F1 car though given a very long straight indeed, minimal downforce and long gearing? |

Honda took one to Bonneville a few years ago and got 400kmh IIRC..in current (at the time) spec, with the exception of the rear wing, which was converted to a fin.
Edit: Bit of linky for you http://www.autoblog.com/2006/07/21/h...at-bonneville/ |
