Cedar Park
Ok so its been pretty quiet recently on My Tracks so I'm gonna try to spice things up a bit with this track. I gave it a pretty generic name, Cedar Park.
I usually give i long description of the track but for this one I'm just going to show you the track and leave it up to you guys to comment on it. I will only make a fews notes concerning the track. First, I know the pit exit isn't safe if you're using the full endurance pit lane. I was trying to model it after the pit area at Spa. Second, The track runs Clockwise and is 3.7 miles long. And last, there are 2 shorter circuits that can be used simultaneously. Enjoy! |

As usual, great detail and great flow to the track!
My only criticism is that perhaps, this time it's too derivative of Sebring But it's a good track nonetheless |

I see that too but I believe great minds think alike, the U it's a good design, though I am as of lately hooked with the S form, opening for more balanced circuits in terms of L's vs R's

Well, the resemblance to Sebring is, really undenyable, but, I guess, the experience would be different. The overall shape doesn't atter that much, the details can change everything.
This one's another great one - the usual great flow, overtaking chances, it's got all it needs. Two things: 1.) which is the default pit exit point? Just after T1, or at T2? The first would, I thnik, be betteer, at T2 the pitlane would exit right at the racing line (and the same old story begins ). 2.) the bridge above the S/F line. The track is 3.7 miles long, that translates to nearly 6 kilometers. Taking this size the bridge seems a bit too short. Means it either starts and ends above the S/F line's altitude - meaning the S/F line runs in a ditch, basically - and then there's nothing about it, or the bridge would be rather steep. But, if you stretch the bridge the road leading t it - with a certain radius curve bafore the bridge, it's long trucks that have to take the bridge... so, the road might get too close to the track itself. My dea would be to take a different approaching to the paddocks and place the bridge after T3. But, you see, these are absolutely minor issues (and ppl will come and argue it anyways ), the track is great. bio |

Your turn 4-5 and 14-15 complexes look good. 4-5 may even be a corner taken without letting the steering wheel go straight, like turn 7 at Infineon.
As Bio said, both large bridges are a little short so I'd prefer to make them longer or build tunneld instead. The little footbridges (or atleast that's what they seem like) before turn 7 and 14 would be no problem, just use stairs. The run off at turn 11 doesn't seem to exist and if it does someone at the camping could still get hurt or lose a caravan. I thnk makin the camping smaller and in a kind of triangle would help. There seems to be no turn 11 in your drawing but that must be a minor mistake. I think the best grandstand is that at the turn 7-9 esses because if you get a high seat you could see the infield too. Maybe a possebility for a shortcut for the GP layout would be at turn 14. Ofcourse this would make the turn 7-9 grandstand less atractive. |

Bio: I mentioned in the description that I wanted the pit lane setup to be just like that of Spa. In other words, the pits normally exit right after turn 1. The endurance layout uses both pit lanes to maximize pit lane space. I know the pit exit isn't safe but I couldn't find a better way so maybe you could put an extra lane around the outside like Montreal does.

Or a little more radical build a tunnel underneath the circuit and exit after turn 3. It would leave more room for run-off.

Great track mate!
Tracks turning out to be similar to an existing track can be a bit annoying, especially considering it's your own design. On the same subject, I created a track yesterday that looked similar to Stig's Zanardi Circuit I think it was, unintentionally of course! |

There are just so many tracks around, you cant help having similarity issues. I guess we have to live with it.
