V8SCFC'11: R2 Adelaide Results
Welcome to the 2011 V8Superdrifting Championship! The Giz leads from Webb, Lowndes, and R.Kelly... Top Ten
Lots of new face on the podium this round, with WW Racing presenting team owner FJ Nedos with a nice shiny trophy on only the second attempt. Flipside Motorsport also snared an equally rapid, if slightly less shiny, trophy, alongside championship heavyweights ETIHAD Racing and Team Tiger Racing. Congrats to webb-footed wall wizards Jamie Whincup and Fabian Coulthard! Hard Charger Award Redwood Racing got their Turn 8 powerslides just right to storm up 19 places and gain the year's first Hard Charger award. Also staging dramatic wet-weather charges were TGI Racing (up 17), Eagle Motorsport (up 13) and Blown Budget Racing (up 11). Biggest Loser Award JPMotorsport and Mach 1 Motorsport got their Turn 8 powerslides completely wrong and ended up with a severe case of concrete rash and a stunning 22-place fall. Also channelling too much Paul Radisich in the Turn 2 chicane were ex-Championship leaders D&T Racing and Team Bourbonfone (both down 16), and Axeman Performace Racing (down 11). Standings:
With the sudden and dramatic demise of D&T Racing and Team Bourbonfone, the names at the top of the tree after Round 2 are all new - Flipside Motorsport just pipping Adelaide champs WW Racing for the point, ahead of ETIHAD Racing, Team Tiger Racing, and L&P World Famous Racing rounding out the top 5. Back in the pack its getting a bit keen, with no less than eight teams squabbling over 8th place! |

Media Release WW Racing Celebrates Victory WW Racing celebrated victory at the recent Clipsal 500 in Adelaide. Drivers Jamie Whincup and Fabian Coulthard both drove very good races. "We all knew Jamie would be kicking goals with both feet at Clipsal", commented team owner F J Nedos. "However, the team was especially delighted with the performance of Fabian. He was the quiet achiever on the weekend!" In the team's championship, WW Racing has moved into 2nd place. "This shows the punters out there at WW Racing has chosen quality over quantity. We believe the driver combination at WW Racing for 2011 is awesome. We do not see a need for any change whatsoever" commented F J Nedos. The entire team held a week long party at WW Racing HQ. Many a beverage was consumed, many a WW Racing grid girl partied hard in the sponsors product, and lots of vegemite was consumed. "The problem with the consumption of heaps of our sponsors product meant that the team travelled to the GP in what could be described as less than ideal conditions" F J lamented. "However, both drivers still rose to the occasion - as I am sure did many of the punters when they saw our livery!" WW Racing is now in preparation for the trip across the Tasman. The gear is being packed, travel and acommodation bookings being made, cars being prepped etc. "The punters in the land of the long white cloud might not be too thrilled to learn that our grid girls will be suitably clothed in warm clothing for this round, as we cannot in all fairness ask them to wear the same outfits as they did in a hot and steamy Adelaide. Never fear however, as we do plan on bringing lots of Coopers and Vegemite to warm the hearts of our un-zud fans!" said F J. "We expect Jamie to thrash the pants off the others in NZ. We also are looking forward to seeing Fabian perform well for his home crowd" said F J. "Second place is a nice start, but we have eyes for gold!" |
