Cheap 16" slicks for my track car

Hello all,

I am new to the forum so forgive me if I have put this thread in the wrong section. I had a good look round first!

I would have though that this is an age old question. I have searched but not found an answer to my question.

I am trying to find where I can get cheap/free tyres for my track car. Peugeot 206 Gti 180. The wheels I have are 16". I currently have some 205 width tyres and I think a profile of about 60.

I am looking to get some tyres that are slick, 16", around 205 width and I am not bothered about the profile. I just want cheap/free tyres to have some fun with.

Where can I get some please???!!! I have heard that I can use part worn race tyres but I do not know what series uses this size! If anyone knows of a racing series which uses tyres this size, please let me know!!!

Many thanks

I don't know any off the top of my head but if you check the championship websites for some of the single make championships they should provide enough info to work out if the tyres would be any good. If they are then you can track down the teams and see what they've got to offer. MINIs and Clios may be a good place to start? (I have no idea what size they run on but worth a look?)

We've used second hand Formula Renault rears on our Escort rally car (13" rims) - they're far from ideal but it's cheaper than wrecking our decent tyres on a track day.
