Spa
Hi,
I was just wondering, is the wing setting for the cars at Spa med-low? a bit like Canada? What do u think of Willaims' chances at Spa? I'm preying for a wet race, as Spa is amazing in the wet. |

I think the Williams have a good chance. But Ferrari still has an edge. Rain could be very interesting and exciting. Michelin hasnt raced in the wet yet, so it is likely that their tires wont perform as well. Spa is always fun to watch, no matter what the conditions are.

I think the advantage will go to Williams if it's dry, Ferrari if it's wet. If it rains, the Michelin wet tyre just isn't good enough to compete with Bridgestone.

A very well put analysis, Steph, I agree wholeheartedly. The wing settings, I suspect, will be a lot like Canada. Someone with more technical knowledge will probably elaborate, but the similarities between the tracks could indicate this.
I'm hoping for a dry race. |

I half hope for rain, half don't. The half that is hoping for rain wants an interesting race with an interesting result (something along the lines of Spa 98 - now that was exciting). But the other half wants it to stay bone dry because otherwise Ralf and his naff Michelin wet tyres don't stand a chance of winning.

If it rains its MS owned race . Shuey snr has said time & time again this is his FAV track and look at his record on this track
As for a dry race RALF will win this one in a canter I expect the BMW unit to a 7 - 10 kph speed advantge here plus RALF has got a allllright record here . He was up for a win here once with jordan up he had to give to D HILL Give me a dry race |

Montoya will definately want to bounce back after Hungary and he should be able to do this with the powerful Williams. If it don't rain, then Ralf and JPM will disappear pretty quickly down the track.

If it's a dry race, I expect the top 3 teams to dominate - Williams, Ferrari and McLaren (who it appears no-one yet has mentioned as even a slight factor). I'd expect the power of the BMW to be a major factor in providing the outcome for the race, and therefore we could see a real duel between RS and JPM, and hopefully JPM gets one over his team-mate.
If it's wet, I think we'll see the Ferrari's pull away. Neither Williams drivers have real wet weather experience with the Michelin wets, so that is an X factor. Wouldn't it be bizarre. TGF wins his 52nd GP at the same circuit he made his debut at a decade ago. Kind of poetic really. |

if my memory serves me correctly, it was Hill who was ahead of Ralf in this race, not the other way around. Jordan then asked Ralf to hold station behind Damon, not to risk ruining a 1-2 for the team, and given Ralf's history of taking out team-mates (Fisichella from the year before), a very wise decision from Jordan. You don't risk a 1-2 in that situation, especially with the kind of weather we had that day. So Ralf was not "up for a win" that day, nor did he "give" anything to Damon. --- Seeing Montoya through Eau Rouge should be something! |
