Post Your Karting Circuits!
I just went out to my local karting track (the Dallas Karting Complex in Caddo Mills, TX) with a Rotax DD2 kart, and that inspired me to create a thread about karting tracks. Generally, they are a lot more technical and tend to curve in on themselves, creating a longer track than it actually looks from the sky. Usually they are about .7 to 1.5 miles long with about 10-20 turns. So, without further ado, post your karting tracks (that is, if you have any!).
I've got one I'm working on which is about 1.2 miles. I plan it's location will be between Philadelphia and Baltimore, which will attract maximum crowds as it's also within driving distance from Newark, New York City, and D.C. The center of the track will be at approximately 39°27'38.85"N 76°17'33.70"W It'll be up in a week or so, probably. |

Any more plans for this? I might look into having a go at this. Anyone else?

the track runs clockwise and I have not worked out the scale, but I'm hoping the long circuit be around 2 km (whatever that is in miles, I'm Australian) and the short being around 1.5 km. also the red square is the clubhouse/garage. may need fixing up artwork wise and drawing an infield

OK here are a few I have on file
BOP started of as a short track exercise to get as much track into a confined space as was possible but still be interesting to drive. an extension took it to 1200+ metres after some revisions and fiddling. The original area size was less than 7.5 acres which is relatively tiny for an 800m+ track. This is deceptively fast and not as twisty as it looks although it would be harder to pass on because their are few hard braking opportunities. But it would be fun to drive on. China is a track I am quite pleased with. Its an international length track with a variety of corners and plenty of places to pass. The layout is compact but effective. Shanghai is another international circuit design and one that is still in progress. sally is an old design that has its shortcomings like not much run off, especially in the high speed stuff, but its fast and fun to drive, if you could put in soft walls btween areas that are to close to other parts of the track Last edited by Teretonga; 31 Jul 2014 at 09:16. |
