Building at Copse
Does anyone know what the rather ;arge building just before the outside of Copse is going to be at Silverstone?
Looks to be multi storey, and rather annoyingly they have also knocked the bloody bridge down!! Another car showroom no doubt! |

Its a college building of some description i believe.
They knocked the bridge down a couple of years ago when the run off at woodcote was extended, because the bridge was too narrow. There's still the tunnel just a smidge further down so it doesn't make that much difference really. |

Oops, I didn't see the tunnel
A college building, Fair enough, quite a serious bit of work though, must be costing a bomb! |

The bridge is a distant memory, sadly. It's just a shame they didn't transplant it down to the Wing!

It's going to be the National Motorsport College. As others pointed out the Copse tunnel is still in use.
They also have planning permission for a tunnel to the Wing, but didn't have the money or time in the main development phase, so that's going to happen some time in the future. |

M'learned friend Mr Greem has it nearly there. I'm not sure of any planned future as a National Motorsport College, but it's definitely the site of one of the new University Technical Colleges. It's going up in association with Tresham College and the University of Northampton. They'll be teaching the normal school curriculum to 13-19 year olds, with the addition of specialisms in High Performance Engineering & Motorsport and in Technical Events Management.

Ah, I stand partially corrected. I mentioned the NMC as that's currently run by Tresham College - I had read that this would be a new centre for it.
What's in a name? |

A Greem by any other name would smell as sweet?
I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's an amount of overlap with NMC. |
