fatboys single seater

hey guys i am new here!

thought i'd start by sharing my project,
plan is for the british hillclimb champs, there or thereabouts.

about a year ago, acquired myself a mygale sj01 ff chassis:

got it in the shed and started dismantling it and cleaning it up.

next was the trip up north, planned on making a car trailer from this caravan base, but ended up buying one.

then i went and collected myself an engine
gsxr 600

and since i have been slowly collecting everything i need to get it put together.

was told these wishbones should fit, no they didnt. so ill be fabricationg my own

began attempting to fit the engine.

the chassis is so slim it barely fits,

the frame work parts i made, the little sticky out points were planned to be where my rear wishbones picked up.

and started mapping the front end pick up points:

had to cut the old ff fuel tank out which frustrated me somewhat.

tank went in the bin, but i utilised the foam from it to fill my own tank,

just needs welding up now

got myself some front uprights, they arent to my dimensions, but are made of steel so i can change them to suit me, and they are ford fitment like my rear end set up so ive kept them the same.

then i went away with work for 4 months!

came back to it, started making wishbone jigs after i got all the correct dimensions from the US.

so since i've started the wishbone jigs, i've decided i wont bother with a 600cc engine and start at the bottom, i'm just going to go for it and fit an 1100 black bird engine instead,

the man cave

reasonable view on the way to my garage.

loads of free steel for the jigs

all 4 finished

waiting on steel tube and rod ends, so made an effort to start the shape of my steering wheel. based on the 2003 williams logitech wheel! haha

a few updates as i haven't been on in a while,

my chassis is away getting these little extras fitted,

chassis henge:

its 4130 steel so i am not that happy doing it myself with such little tig experience, so i have to crack on with a few other things.

started producing wish bones from the jigs:

adapted my mcgills steering boss, to include a master splie to ensure its orientate correctly when fitted,
